Visitors can stroll galleries
and shops, and sample chocolate creations. by local chocolatiers.
Local musicians will be performing at many locations.
The narrow streets of
this Medieval town will showcase cakes and sweets to sample and
purchase. The “Kids’ Chocolate House” offers recreational and
pedagogical activities and a kitchen where children can prepare
recipes. Adults can attend culinary classes where chocolate is
always the base ingredient and also watch competitions involving
professional pastry-makers, such as the Chocolatier of the Year and
the International Competition of Chocolate Recipes.
Lewisburg, in the southeastern corner of the state, was
named one of National Geographic’s best small town escapes. Events
include bakoff, mousse eating contest, chocolate tastings,
demonstrations by chefs from nearby Greenbrier resort.
Activities include an expanded “Journey of the
Pod” educational exhibit and a chocolate contests for professional
and culinary school students.
