Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring & Snowshoe Foundation's 20th
Annual Chocolate Festival in Intervale, NH, is set for Sunday,
February 22. Intervale is about three miles north of North Conway.
The complete tour of trailside chocolate stops is between 12 - 15
kilometers Participants can cross country ski, snowshoe, or drive
from inn-to-inn along the course to enjoy great chocolate treats at
stops. For those who don’t want to ski or snowshoe the entire
course, shuttle service begins at 1 p.m. and operates until 5 p.m..
The chocolate treats are prepared by innkeepers and by chefs and
bakers who operate restaurants. Participants may also find chocolate
creations from one of the area chocolate shops, such as the Bavarian
Chocolate Haus, Lindt, or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and at
the Buttonwood Inn on Mount Surprise.

The Stonehurst Manor, famous for chocolate fondue served
traditionally with cake and fruit on white linen-clothed tables
in the dining room. The inn has also developed its own n special
recipe for a chocolate martini.

Old Field House where Rod and Linea Hopwood prepare a brownie
sundae complete with a fudgy brownie, vanilla ice cream, hot
fudge sauce, whipped cream, and cherry.

1785 Inn and Restaurant, centrally located on the tour, where
Becky Mallar, owner and baker of the breads and award-winning
desserts, prepares a variety of chocolate treats which always
include her homemade peanut butter cups.

Adventure Suites, which offers a chocolate fountain with a
variety of dippers.

Riverside Inn, the newest stop on the tour, with an array of
chocolate krinkle cookies, chocolate dipped pretzels, brownies
and of other offerings.

The New England Inn, the third stop in the northern end of the
network, offering chocolate covered strawberries.

Tuckerman's Restaurant and Tavern will open at noon for those
looking for something savory to balance their consumption of
everything sweet.
