Chocolate Stop: Ruby et Violette

By Lisa Skriloff

Ruby et Violette has opened a second location in New York City to add to its original store on West Fiftieth Street. In the trendy Limelight Marketplace in the Flatiron District, the new store is on the second floor overlooking what would have been the dance floor when Limelight was a disco. The building was originally a church.

Every one of Ruby et Violette’s 120 cookie flavors has white or dark chocolate chunks. Flavors include Espresso Bean, Champagne Strawberry, Caramel Nougat, Crystallized Ginger, Green Tea, Violet, Fig, Cardamom, Yogurt, Mojito, White Russian, Amaretto, Egg Nog, Kir Royal, Pina Colada, Mai Tai, and Completely Coconut. Ruby ed Violette’s ice cream flavors all have chocolate chip cookie dough and, of course, there are brownies, brownie sundaes and cookie sundaes. Some flavors are available year round; others are seasonal. O, The Oprah Magazine has called the cookies “transcendently luscious.”
