Chocolate All Night Long: Extravagant Indulgence from Chocolat Michel Cluizel

If Cupid, the playful god of love and patron of Valentine’s Day, were flitting around Manhattan, he’d surely put down his gold-headed arrows and arm himself with an assortment of bonbons from Chocolat Michel Cluizel.

Besides bonbons, Michel Cluizel is offering two unforgettable chocolate experiences this Valentine’s Day:

Strawberries with luscious dark molten chocolate Mousse Chocolat Michel Cluizel;

A Heart shaped Bouchee of dark chocolate filled with almond and hazelnut praline for two; Pop au Chocolat with framboise or creme de peche;Luxurious Truffe A La Crème;

Kirsch-soaked cherry, with pit, enrobed in dark chocolate; a sultry bonbon of your choice; and chocolate dipped champagne glasses with a bottle of brut or rose sparkling French wine. Available only from 02/09/06 to 02/16/06, reservations required

For a mere $10,000, extravagant lovers can indulge all-night at the fine chocolate boutique. Better yet, they can share this valentine with 40 of their closest chocophiles. Chocolat Michel Cluizel will shut its doors to the public and shower one party with more chocolate than even Augustus Gloop bargained for when he navigated Wonka’s chocolate river: An unlimited supply of morello cherries aged in kirsch and enrobed in a 60 percent cocoa blended chocolate; creamy chocolate ganache covered in milk chocolate and rolled in cocoa powder; framboise-filled 72 percent cocoa chocolate cups; heart-shaped dark chocolate bonbons; candied orange slices dipped in a 72 percent cocoa chocolate; iced “hot” chocolate; and champagne. Chocolat Michel Cluizel’s chocolate sommeliers will guide the party through it all—explaining the nuances of single-plantation varietals, carefully calculated cocoa blends and the history of chocolate in all its forms through the centuries.
